I have numerous jobs that involve the QA/QC, most require a computer connection and little else. To be more specific, we could use more targeted queries into the database that summarize data for a module/block and present the data in a clear/concise fashion. I'm anticipating needs for software to do standard equeries into the database and present the data either in tabular or graphical form is most useful. Example 1: provide a query/display summarizing the test data for a specific APD or FEB. Example 2: Provide a query/display that summarizes the block leak check data for a block. Since many modules are tested multiple times, we would want information like: o # times the module was tested o Final test result (numeric) The above data presented in a standard block layout (plot). Example 3: provide a query/display for a specific module that tells us everything one would want to know about that module from all database sources: o module ID o module location in the detector o extrusions used in the module o fiber used in the module o scintillator used in the module o leak test data from the module factory o fiber test data from the module factory (all types of tests) o leak test data on receipt at Ash River o fiber test data on receipt at Ash River o leak test data for the module once in a block There are additional QA/QC data I can imagine. Example 4: provide a query/display of specific QA/QC quantity for all modules (histogram of that quantity). Satish Desai (UMn Postdoc) has also expressed some interest and has some knowledge of the module factory database. Perhaps you two could work together or form the nucleus of a database analysis group? Does this help? Rick
