 Social programme

 Welcome drink

     Will take place on Sunday evening, 14 September 2003, 18:00 at the Masarykova kolej address: Thákurova 1, Praha 6 (close to the meeting place)

  Reception and concert

     Reception by Charles University Rector and a classical music concert will be held on Monday, 15 September 2003 at 19:00 in the historical building Karolinum, Ovocny trh 3, Praha 1.

 Technical excursions

     Laboratory Visits will take place during Wednesday, 17 September 2003, 16:15. Alternatively, you can choose in the same time an informal guided walk through Prague scientific history places (limited number of participants).

 Prague Castle visit and conference dinner

     will be held on Thursday, 18 September 2003.
First there will be the excursion to Prague Castle and then we shall finish the day with the conference dinner in the Rothmayer Hall at Prague Castle.

 Excursions for accompanying persons

Old Town Square, Ungelt Monday, 15 September 2003 (afternoon) Price: 850 CZK
During this walking tour will see the unique architecture of the Old Town Square, the famous Astronomical Clock, the gothic Church of our Lady befor Teyn and the adjoining Ungelt area.
A walking tour, approx. 3 hours with a guide. Minimum 15 persons.
Lesser Town, Charles Bridge Tuesday, 16 September 2003 (morning) Price: 850 CZK
The Lesser Town is a quarter of Praha with beautiful baroque churches and palaces. St. Nicholas’ Church is the most significant historical building of the period called "Prague Baroque". Charles Bridge, the oldest bridge in Prague, was founded in 1357. Its statuary decoration is dated back to 18th century. The well-known are works of Matthias Braun and Ferdinand Maximillian Brokoff.

Konopiště Castle Wednesday, 17 September 2003 (whole day) Price: 1.250 CZK
A gothic castle from the begining of 14th century, later many times rebuild, used to be a best-loved seat of Archduke Franz Ferdinand d'Este, successor to the Austrian throne. From his time there are interior furnishings, a large art collection and exceptional collections of historical weapons and magnificent hunting thropies.
Bus transport, lunch, visit of the castle. Minimum 15 persons, maximum 40 persons.
